This update is called “link spam update.”

As per Google’s official announcement.

They said that they are continuously trying to improve the quality of the search results on search engines and now we are launching an amazing link spam update.

So all the sites taking part in link spam way, they will face changes in search results because those links are re-assessed by the new algorithm update.

As you all know that Google is always trying to improve its algorithm updates to make the search engine more smarter and more redefined. 

Here is all the things what Google recommends for each type of links on your website:

#1. Affiliate links: as per Google, all the sites who take part in affiliate programs should be mentioned with rel=“sponsored”, whether these affiliate links are created dynamically or manually.

#2. Links from your Sponsored Posts: all links which are advertised or ad placements should be marked up with the rel=“sponsored” value.

#3. Links from All Guest Posts: Links from guest posts are to be marked up with the rel=“nofollow” value.

Google also adds a thing that it may issue manual actions notifications when it finds any of sites that fail to qualify the above types of links appropriately. So it should be follow by all the sites.

This update will take approximately 2 weeks to rollout completely.
